The Desire for Natural Options for Pet Stress

Just as you and I experience anxiety during stressful situations, our pets do also. More and more people are looking for safe, natural options to help their pets.

Drugs such as Xanax, Valium, Prozac, etc. are commonly prescribed. ProQuiet® L-Tryptophan formula from Animal Health Options was developed to satisfy numerous requests from customers to develop a safe and gentle, natural formula for dogs and cats.

ProQuiet®

ProQuiet® has been recommended by veterinarians for 20 years and is indicated for use when outside stress causes a pet to become overanxious, nervous or overly excited (storms, separation anxiety, hyperactivity, some forms of aggression1, travel, fireworks, and other uses that may not always require a prescription).

Each chewable flavored tablet contains: L-Tryptophan (120mg), Taurine, Hops, Chamomile, Brewer’s Yeast, B Vitamins, Ginger and Folic Acid.

L-Tryptophan, the main ingredients in ProQuiet®, is a natural relaxant and a precursor to the inhibitory neurotransmitters serotonin and vitamin B3. Hops have a truly soothing effect on the nervous system. Chamomile is a well-known herb for relaxation. Ginger root has been used to soothe upset stomachs and reduce nausea from motion sickness, particularly in combination with chamomile.

Safety & Efficacy

Animal Health Options, the makers of well-known products such as ProMotion®, ProHepatic®, and Proanthozone®, have tested ProQuiet® for safety and efficacy in three separate studies.

In one study, 13 out of 14 dog owners and 2 out of 2 cat owners said they noticed a mild or better degree of relaxation (94% positive response). Owner comments at the conclusion of the trial included: "Calming effect lasted long after the actual sedation", "Not barking as excessively as usual", "Was not as sedated as with acepromazine", “Not as hyper - I was very happy with what I saw" and "Seems to have taken the frantic attitude down a bit. I have tried other products and this works better".

Two other studies were done to determine ProQuiet’s safety. No significant abnormalities or changes were observed in urinalysis, blood chemistries or complete blood counts when the product was used as recommended. It is important to note that when using ProQuiet, label recommended doses should not be exceeded.

Pet Owner Testimonials

Some satisfied pet owners write:

“I have a 10 year old Toy Poodle, Phebee. She has suffered from an arthritic condition in her back for the past four years. She takes ProMotion and frequently requires doses of steroids to control the pain. Our Vet suggested we try ProQuiet to assist in the control of pain. It has worked well. When the episodes are not severe, I use ProQuiet. It relaxes her and allows her to get some rest. Frequently when she wakes up, the episode has passed. This has dramatically reduced the amount of steroids I administer to her. As with most pet owners, I prefer to minimize the amount of pharmaceuticals she ingests. ProQuiet has provided us with an alternative that has worked very well. I strongly recommend the product.” - Donna, New York

“I give my dog ProQuiet before she is groomed and for any other stressful events. It has really helped her through these times without any problems.” - Mary, Nevada

“ProQuiet has changed my cat and I know without it she’ll go back to being a half wild cat who pees in the corner with any change, is constantly on alert and runs to hide from any noise and is pretty stressed because of this.” - Darlene, Washington

“ProQuiet has been incredibly successful with several cases of separation anxiety and it has made some cranky pets nice to those around them.” - Dr. Gary Ailes, Nevada
