Omeprazole is potentially useful in treating both gastro- duodenal ulcer disease and to prevent or treat gastric erosions caused by ulcerogenic drugs (e.g.,aspirin).

Omeprazole is contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to it. In patients with hepatic or renal disease, the drug's half life may be prolonged and dosage adjustment may be necessary if disease is severe.
