ACTIVE INGREDIENT(S): Dextrose, maltodextrin, dried Lactobac illus fermentum, dried L. casei (avian strain), dried Entero coccus faecium, dried L. plantarum, and dried L. acidophilus fermentation products. The guaranteed total (viable) lactic acid producing bacte ria is 25 million colony forming units (CFU) per gram. INDICATIONS: The product is recommended as part of the manag ement program for birds and reptiles subjected to changing e nvironmental or nutritional conditions or after antibiotic t herapy. DOSAGE/ADMINISTRATION: I.) Hand Feeding: A.) Mix with formula after cooling to 100°F or less. B.) Provide one (1) feeding on days 1,3,5 and 7, and the n one (1) feeding per week until weaned from hand fe eding formula. C.) Use the following to administer. 1.) For 10-30 g of body weight administer 1/8 level te aspoon of Bird Bene-Bac Powder. 2.) For 30-250 g of body weight administer 1/4 level t easpoon of Bird Bene-Bac Powder. 3.) For 250-450 g of body weight administer 1/2 level teaspoon of Bird Bene-Bac Powder. II.) Growing and Maintenance: A.) Treat birds once a week by top dressing Bird Bene-Ba c Powder on moistened or oiled dry food or fresh fru its or vegetables. B.) Use 1/8 teaspoon for birds 1 lb. or less and 1/8 tea spoon for every pound thereafter up to a maximum of one teaspoon per treatment. C.) Discard uneaten food after no more than eight hours and thoroughly wash dishes. III.) Changing Conditions: A.) Use the quantities indicated for growing and mainten ance, but provide two feedings, three days apart, be fore and after periods of environmental or nutrition al changes. B.) If the bird is anorexic, consult a veterinarian. IV.) General Information: A.) If several birds are maintained in a common cage or flyway: 1.) Use the approximate total weight of all birds to d etermine the feeding level. 2.) Mix with the feed so that all of the birds receive the appropriate dose. B.) For large ratites: 1.) Use one teaspoon for growing birds and two teaspoo ns for mature stock. 2.) Follow the frequency directions indicated above. 3.) One level teaspoon equals approximately 2.7 g of B ird Bene-Bac Powder. C.) Wash all feeding dishes, water bottles, or water dis hes thoroughly with hot, soapy water and rinse well after each use. D.) Reptiles should be provided Bird Bene-Bac Powder on the same weight basis as birds. E.) Be sure to contact a veterinarian for any illness.
