Lead Web Developer — IBM Websphere

Are you looking to be part of a dynamic team and growing family-owned company? Penn Veterinary Supply is seeking a skilled Lead Web Developer – IBM Websphere to help us in achieving our digital and eCommerce goals. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Lead Web Developer will oversee the internal web development team as well as contracted resources. The Lead Web Developer will assist with planning, product development, and timelines as well as provide feedback to marketing or sales teams on capabilities and solutions. The Lead Web Developer will have an immediate effect on our brand and our customer experience, as well as an ongoing impact in solidifying our reputation for excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Using the agile development methodology, the Lead Web Developer will engage with the business and web development team on daily stand up and weekly/monthly sprint meetings.
  • Refine business and functional requirements and determine project scopes and specifications.
  • Mentor the web development staff and provide general design guidance and platform specific expertise.
  • Consistently create well-designed, tested code using best practices for website development.
  • Create websites and user interfaces, using standard HTML/CSS practices, while incorporating data from back-end databases and services.
  • Develop or validate testing schedules, addressing all browsers and devices to ensure various computers can access content.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of new and emerging industry trends and technology.
  • Ensure software stability via regression, support quality assurance, and perform unit and user-acceptance testing to identify bugs and ensure production operations run successfully.
  • Work quickly and carefully to complete small edits requested by stakeholders, collaborate with colleagues, and suggest new solutions to improve existing websites.

Skills and Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field

  • Expertise with IBM Websphere (a must)

iSeries Programmer/Analyst

Under the leadership of the Director of Information Systems, the individual will develop and deliver best practice solutions within the multi-functional IT and business teams. (such as Sales, eCommerce, Purchasing, etc.) while also supporting the organizational technology evolution and working directly with our ERP and Reporting systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop programs in RPG LE and Free Form
  • Troubleshoot iSeries program errors, messages and alerts
  • Collaborate with business and IT leadership to automate and/or optimize business processes
  • Work directly with the ERP vendor on support and development initiatives
  • Installation & testing of IBMi software updates

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years experience working in an IBMi series environment
  • 5+ years of RPG programming
  • Installation & testing of IBMi software updates & new releases
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of implementing application architecture

Warehouse Shipping Associate

We are looking for highly motivated warehouse shipping associates in our Lancaster, PA location. Warehouse shipping associate responsibilities include receiving and storing materials, picking, packing and scanning orders. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction. This position is typically Monday - Friday, 10:30 AM - 7:30 PM .

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
  • Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store)
  • Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment
  • Process orders with 100% accuracy
  • Report any discrepancies
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations

Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time

Inside Sales Representative/Account Manager - Remote

We are searching for an energetic, motivated sales representative who will thrive in our fast-paced, goal-oriented setting.  Our Inside Sales Reps are a vital part of Penn Vet's success, selling veterinary supplies and pharmaceuticals to our current customers and prospecting for new accounts.  Successful candidates will be able to manage dozens of calls each day as well as respond to e-mail inquries all while working from your home office.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand customer needs and requirements
  • Sell veterinarian products, biological, sundries, pharmaceuticals and capital equipment to licensed small and large animal veterinary practices
  • Close sales, achieve and exceed weekly, monthly and quarterly goals
  • Cold calling - making outbound calls to potential clients, identifying key decision makers and developing relationships with them, developing them from prospects to customers
  • Maintain and expand your prospects within your assigned territory
  • Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest
  • Present and sell products and services to customers
  • Demonstrate selling skills such as companion selling, up-selling and cross-selling to increase order size
  • Provide excellent customer service in all client interactions
  • Work in tandem with outside sales representatives to place new products and grow customers

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in business to business sales, preferably inside sales in distribution

Territory Manager, Animal Health B2B - Greater Jacksonville Area

Human Resources Assistant

We are searching for a full-time HR assistant, 35 - 40 hours per week, to undertake a variety of HR administrative duties. The HR assistant duties involve a wide range of support activities inside our HR department, from coordinating meetings to maintaining our employee files to posting job ads. You will assist in creating procedures and policies, processes and documents.
